COOPERATION OF THE ASSOCIATION “WOMEN AND GLACIERS”

WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF FREIBURG, SWITZERLAND

          On June 2, in the meeting hall of the State Scientific Institution ” Center for the Study of Glaciers of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan” was hold a meeting with the participation of the representative of the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, Martina Barandu and the Association of  “Women and Glaciers”. At the same time, the cides was discussed about the organization and holding of the summer scientific-research expedition in Yakarcha (Varzob) and Zulmart (Pamir) glaciers.

Then, during the meeting and speech of head of the   Association of  “Women and Glaciers”, Dilorom Qayumova spoke about the work and activities of the members of this association, and at the same time expressed that the women of the Center, along with performing scientific and research works, at the same time climbed to height of 5000 meters, that its also higher than the sea level.

During the meeting, the representative of the University of Friborg, Switzerland, Martina Barandu, gave a detailed speech in order to attract and guide the women of the mentioned Center to the next summer expeditions, and highly appreciated the activity of this association.

It should be noted that the founder of national peace and unity – the leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in many of his speeches, emphasizes the support and involvement of women in various fields, including science and education. Therefore, the administration of the SSI ” Center for the Study of Glaciers of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan” has also decided to continuously support the improvement of the activities of the Association  of “Women and Glaciers”.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their opinions about the organization and plans of the next expeditions.
