Participation of Saidzoda V.Y., Deputy Director for Science and Education of the State Scientific Institution ‘Center for Research of Glaciers of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan,’ in the side event: ‘The Role of Media and Social Networks in the Study and Preservation of Glaciers.
On May 29, on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation, a side event titled ‘The Role of Media and Social Networks in the Study and Preservation of Glaciers’ was held at the branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University in Dushanbe. Welcoming remarks were delivered by R.G. Ganizoda, Executive Director of the Dushanbe branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and H.E. S.V. Grigoriev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Tajikistan.
Leading scientists and experts from universities of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation took part in the panel discussion. Among them was V.Y. Saidzoda, Deputy Director for Science and Education of the State Scientific Institution ‘Center for Research of Glaciers of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.’ He delivered a presentation on the topic ‘The State of Scientific Research and Glacier Monitoring in Tajikistan.’ In his presentation, he discussed the Center’s research methods, glacier monitoring and mapping, the use of modern equipment and instruments, and also presented the latest results of the Center’s scientific research activities.
At the conclusion of his presentation, V.Y. Saidzoda emphasized that, as Tajikistan is the initiator of glacier protection initiatives in the region, the Center expresses its readiness to expand scientific and practical cooperation with Russian colleagues in the field of cryosphere research and glacier preservation.
