History of the Center’s Establishment

The State Scientific Institution “Center for Glacier Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan” (hereinafter – the Center) was established by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 162 dated March 27, 2018, and the Resolution of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 52 dated April 23, 2018.
The Center is a scientific research institution that carries out its activities in the field of developing scientific research projects related to the cryosphere, glaciology, hydrometeorology, and the creation of a glacier inventory system. It also studies glaciers as the main sources of water resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
