Scientific Journal “Cryosphere”

Scientific journal “Cryosphere” of the State Scientific Institution “Center for the Study of Glaciers of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan”

The scientific journal Cryosphere is published by the State Scientific Institution “Center for Glacier Research” of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. It serves as a prestigious platform for the publication of modern research in the fields of glaciology and the cryosphere.

Scientific Importance of the Journal
The journal plays a crucial role in understanding the scientific processes related to glaciers, snow cover, and permafrost in Tajikistan and Central Asia. Glaciers are essential in forming clean water resources, and their study is critical in the context of climate change and global warming.

Main Objective of the Publication
The primary goal of the journal is to unite the efforts of scientists, researchers, and specialists to analyze the dynamics of cryospheric processes, their impact on water resources, natural hazards, and sustainable development in mountainous and polar regions. Special attention is given to the study of glaciers in relation to climate change and its consequences for Central Asia and other vulnerable regions of the world.

Cryosphere publishes peer-reviewed scientific articles, summaries, abstracts, and field research results, contributing to the exchange of knowledge among scientists. The journal acts as an international forum for scientific dialogue and cooperation.

Target Audience
The journal is intended for scientists, specialists, educators, and students who are engaged in the study of cryospheric issues, water resources, and climate adaptation. It fosters scientific collaboration, the exchange of experiences, and the dissemination of important information on the sustainable use of natural resources.

Cryosphere is published in both electronic and print formats, providing wide access to contemporary scientific information. Authors and researchers are encouraged to submit scientific papers, and readers are invited to explore cutting-edge research on the protection and management of the Earth’s cryospheric wealth.

For Authors
Guidelines for Preparing Articles Submitted for Publication in the “CRYOSPHERE” Journal of the State Scientific Institution “Cryosphere Research Center” of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan

The “CRYOSPHERE” journal of the State Scientific Institution “Cryosphere Research Center” of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan reflects the original and important results of scientific research in the fields of cryosphere, glaciology, climatology, meteorology, hydrology, ecology, and sanitation.

Article Format

The article must be concise, well-edited, and thoroughly checked. The manuscript should be submitted in Tajik, Russian, or English in MS Word format (.doc or .docx), with the standard font Times New Roman, font size 14, and line spacing of 1.5.
The maximum allowable length of the article is 14 pages or 40,000 characters, including spaces. When determining the article’s length, images are also taken into account (one image on a page equals 1,800 characters). The editorial board will determine the length of commissioned articles.
Lines within a paragraph should not be manually adjusted (no use of “soft” returns, line breaks, tables, etc.). The “Enter” key should only be pressed at the end of a paragraph.
There should not be more than one space between words, and no spaces should be used inside words. Line breaks should be made using paragraph breaks. Punctuation marks should not be separated from the preceding word by spaces. There should be no hyphens within words.

At the beginning of the article, in the original language of the manuscript, include the following on separate lines:

  • UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) number
  • Author’s name and patronymic (in UPPERCASE)
  • Title of the article (in UPPERCASE)
  • Name of the institution where the work was performed (by the first author)
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (3–5 terms)
  • At the end of the article, the information about the authors should be provided in both English and Tajik.

The article must include:

  • A brief introduction (Abstract)
  • Objective of the study
  • Materials and methods
  • Results of the study and their discussion
  • Conclusions
  • Full list of authors.

The file with the article text should include the following information about the author(s):

– Include a List of References in the form “Surname, First Name.”
– For each author, indicate (if applicable) their role in the research, position held, academic degree, and academic title.
– If authors work at different institutions, specify which author is responsible for correspondence.
– If all authors are from the same institution, it is not necessary to repeat the workplace for each author.
– Provide the e‑mail address of the corresponding author.

Figure Captions
– Format captions as follows (centered under the figure):

Fig. 2. Name of figure (Times New Roman, 12 pt)

Tables and Formulas
– Create and format formulas, tables, and diagrams using your word‑processor’s standard tool panels.

Table Captions
– Place the table caption above the table, centered. For example:
